| My Marc is on Xanga now...so I may be updating again. probably not much though since I am a hardcore livejournaler. | | |
| Well I've had a good couple of days. Last night I went to Union Station and Club Axis with Josh and a friend of his. I LOVE Union Station. When we got there they were playing the clip of Will and Grace when Jack hit his head and Cher was his God, then from there it went into Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. Oh man it made me miss Cher concerts so bad. Josh put in a request for Dark Lady but it was a while before they played it. Oh and I should mention that they play video with the music. So they played all kinds of stuff. Things from Saturday night live, Madonna, Britney Spears (just one song), Paula Abdul, even the theme song from Golden Girls! Finally they played Dark Lady but before they play that they play the theme for the Mary Tyler Moore show and when she throws her hat, they pass out napkins and everyone throws them up, it's cute. So for Dark Lady they play the entire opening from the concert and I about cried I was so happy...I'm lame yes, but who cares. Then on the "dun dun" parts you slam your glass or bottle on the table and they turn the lights on or off. It's fun and I got excited at everyone participating in the Cherness. Oh, also they played Simply the Best from when Tina Turner was on Oprah for Oprah's birthday and I LOVED it. I LOVE Tina. I was in heaven.
The club was kinda dead and they had another bad drag queen, but yeah it was still pretty fun. Only Mr. Shirley didn't come...but Josh bought me two drinks!
Today was very different. I got together with Rachael and DeAnna. I see DeAnna all they time when I am home, but I haven't really hung out with Rachael for long periods of time since the 5th grade (thank God for Facebook!). It wasnt at all as awkward as I thought it would be. I thought all we would have to talk about would be elementary school, and while we did reminisce about some things, it wasnt a big part of our conversation. We did discover that we are all alcoholics though, so we went to Adobe Gilas and got a drink. Well we kept looking for places to get a drink but they were all expensive so we ended up there. We had a drink called "Pain in the Ass". Very girly drink, but it was tasty.
Oh and when we went to Barnes and Noble they were giving away free White Castle sliders. They gave us each two and I got Rent magnets! We pretty much just walked around and had good conversation. It was funny because we went into this very trendy store (I don't remember what it's called), but it had low lighting and all these secluded halls. So we found a sofa and sat on it and then we saw this bed looking thing and relaxed on there for kind of a long time. People kept looking at us, and we said we would be still and make people think we were mannequins and then yell at them but I kept laughing. However right when we got up to leave this guy goes "I thought they were mannequins." Then we went on a hunt for a man for Rachael...unsuccessfully.
Luckily I only saw two people I knew. Lemar from high school...he gave me a hug and everything and he is soooooooo hot! God in high school though, we got along okay but he would piss me off sometimes. We had Algebra together freshman year and he always knew what to say to irritate me. But most times we got along fine. Then we saw a girl from high school who was kind of a part of our group, but she was strange. We only really hung out with her because she went to out middle school. Good God Lemar was hot though.
Then random happening of the day! I called Akeen earlier and apparently she talked to Cristen Payne (who went to elementary, middle and high school with me) and gave her my number. So she called me. I havent seen or spoken to this girl since graduation. And since then she has turned out, smoking weed, drinking...anything bad. But I guess she is getting it together, it was just one awkward conversation.
We also got to hang out with little cousin Ericka aka Tootie. She is so cute and such a little lady. She's 5 and just started school this year and she loves it. She is so freakin tall though! I swear she has to already be 5 feet tall. I don't even know if I was that tall at 5 and I have always been taller than my peers. It's a good thing too because now we can get a bigger christmas tree. I hate it because the tree is my height and sister always loved it so we kept it. But today when Tootie was helping us decorate she was able to hang decorations very close to the top and without standing on her tip toes. Impressive? I think yes. By the third grade this kid will be as tall as me, if not taller!
Alright I have blabbered long enough I should get some shut eye because in the A.M. it's back to Toledo for this girl!

Rent=AMAZING!
"Zoom in on my empty wallet" My favorite line from the whole movie.
I won't go into too much detail because it's like 2am and I just got home (Columbus) not long ago. But I was slightly sad that Idina Menzel wasn't in it for the first hour (well she was in one part but not speaking just dancing. She is mentioned a lot though.
One of my favorite songs was not in it and two of my other favorites were cut in half. Today 4 U Not one of my favorite songs before tonight but the scene it's in is soooo good! I also loved the scene for the song Rent. Love that song even more now.
Umm when two men kiss and adults giggle, not acceptable. AT ALL! Clapping after the first two songs= not acceptable. AT ALL!
It was hard not to sing the songs so I mouthed them. Half the theater was singing Seasons of Love though.
Rosario Dawson= Okay but I don't like her version of Out Tonight. The new Joanne was really good though, I enjoyed her. Jesse L. Martin has a BEAUTIFUL voice, I may be in love with him now.
I will never be able to listen to Over the Moon The same. I will always be doing the little dance with it.
It is definitely a true musical. The last major musical film was Chicago that one was obviously a musical but the way the musical numbers were set up were much different than traditional musicals, and this one is traditional and to some borderline cheesy.
I knew the music but seeing the whole story was soo good and it just made me feel good, like there is still good among all the shit in life. I love it!
The theater was packed. The free stuff they gave away sucked this time. There were a lot of people there from the Theater and Film department. Including Michelle and Kristi who I thought hated me but being in directing with Michelle we have gotten to know each other and to my surprise Chelsea and I sat behind them and Kristi turned around and smiled and said hi. I was shocked I really thought she didnt like me.
Anywho that is all for now, and I am to see it again tomorrow and again Saturday. Yay for me, then I will have a 3 way tie for movies I have seen the most times in a movie theater.

| I'm done with xanga...I'm only livejournaling from now on. | | |
| Okay I hate this school. Now that I have that out of the way I'll move on to my week.
So classes werent too bad. I have 7 classes, 5 that I actually have to go to. I think I am going to love my Monday Wednesday class. I just added the class monday, but the teacher is awesome. He is hilarious and nice. At first I didnt want to take it because it is at Scott Park and I try to make sure I never have classes there because I hate taking the shuttle, but It's like fiction writing for Film so it was calling my name. We watch part of a movie everyday and discuss it and do some writing. Right now we are watching Thelma and Louise I love it. I've seen bits and pieces of the movie but this is my first time seeing the whole thing.
My Film Theory class...gonna be boring. We have a lot of reading but oh well. It's a team taught course so a different teacher teaches a different chapter. Luckily it's only once a week.
Directing For camera has me nervous because directing is what I am the worst at, but that is why I am taking the class. Most of the people in there though are comfortable with it, so we'll see. We also have to act. Yesterday we had to do a Warhol-ian screen test. We had to sit in front of a camera for 2 minutes, and try not to move...while the class watched. I was very nervous at first but when I was sitting there it wasnt bad because nobody was really watching me because by the time it was my turn ADD had set in. We have to watch them this week though so I'm not looking forward to that...also I now have to kill you all because I am not supposed to talk about what goes on in that class. First rule of Directing for camera is you do not talk about directing for camera...oops!
Yesterday I had Recording Techniques. It's a music class and we get to go to a real recording studio and all, but the prof is boring! So we'll see how that one works out!
Today I had 3rd world cinema. The class is kind of messed up because the new prof is changing Elspeth's syllabus...but we only have one paper due, plus a mid-term and final and weekly journals, so not too bad.
Overall it seems like it'll be okay just a lot of reading so we'll see how I do with that.
The apartment thing is going okay. I decorated my room, I still need a few more posters, so I may look on ebay. I am getting a new Orlando one from the bookstore, it's from kingdom of heaven and he has no shirt on. yay! We got cable Tuesday and then had to ghetto rig the cables all through the apartment back to our rooms. We had to wire the cables for our rooms under the carpet pretty much all around the place. But No internet until the 16th so that kind of bites.
I filled out my graduation application! Still need to turn it in though.
Finally got my Rocket Card after 3 days (at least I didnt have to pay for it) and the picture isnt bad but I look like an African! The picture on the computer didnt look that dark, but when they printed it it came out much darker.
We went to Mutz last night, it was okay but crowded since they had the karaoke outside. Lindsay and I sang Behind These Hazel Eyes. Some guys tried to sing Whipping Post but it was horrible and they didnt know the words and didnt seem to know the tune. Chelsea's friend Chelsea (yes they have the same name) sand Independence Day by Martina McBride and she was really good...there were a LOT of really good people there last night, only a few lame ones.
Other than that not much is going on. I have no idea what is up for this weekend, so if you are in Toledo and reading this we should hang out. Hopefully I'll make it to the mall because I havent seen it since they opened all the new stuff, plus I could use a pair of jeans!
Alright it's cold in here so I am gonna wrap this up.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
